WorldWide Artists is one part of Kebra Promotions Ltd, an independent organisation based in Nottingham, England.
Set up in 1998, all Kebra conduct is carried out according to a strict moral code. Much of the emphasis of the
organisation is based upon that nineties buzzword of 'empowerment' - but as fashions change elsewhere, the system
remains successful for Kebra.
Other projects initiated, or entirely run by Kebra include the UK's biggest selling hiphop and funk mag Big Daddy,
Midland's culture guide The Pulse, and club nights including The CoolWorld, Spectrum, Solution, Substance amongst
others... held at a variety of venues across the World (although admittedly mostly in Nottingham!). In addition Kebra
has organised a number of UK tours for US artists from Afrobeat (Antibalas - Ninja Tune) to funk (Chase1&Dante -
StonesThrow).
Locally Kebra has been responsible for the training and support of a number of 'socially disadvantaged' individuals,
including the provision of music courses to people finding themselves at the hands of the Probation Service.
Specifically WorldWide Artists are represented by Alex Evans, Emma O'Callaghan and Lynne Cranney. Go team!
Emma O'Callaghan is possibly described best by her hotmail prefix.... 'tiny_but_tuff'! Don't be scared though, only
crossing her on vodka will provoke any significant reaction. The rest of the time Emma will chat to you on the phone for
hours about planning the best night out for everybody - promoters, artists, and the all important punters. Emma's
experience includes working as a music journalist, promoter, and a DJ in her own right... and she is currently heading
up the breaks and techno end of the roster. Mail her for a chat here!
Lynne Cranney is in charge of hiphop and funk... in fact if you're involved in either of these scenes than you've
probably heard from her recently. Equally chatty, just keep talking to keep her happy, and she sulks if she doesn't
receive at least 15 emails an hour - so please keep sending them (spam.... anything!). Lynne has also worked as a
music journalist, promoter, flautist and trampoline teacher. She's always singing too! Mail her here!
Alex Evans (Fat Pimp)... heads up the organisation of WorldWide, working for the mostpart in recruitment and
hormonal management. Alex co-runs the Spectrum and CoolWorld nights at The Bomb, Substance at Blueprint, and is
part of the Solution collective of DJ's (playing funk through to deep house). His experience includes almost 10 years of
promotions and DJing, music journalism (Big Issue, 69, Big Daddy, City Lights), and tour management. Originally from
Birmingham, and proud of it, he loves the Villa, and always boast of singing with famous bands! Mail him here!
